Boxer David Jamieson is eying a New Year ring return, and says the fire still burns within him. ‌

Westwood puncher Jamieson, 33, is on the comeback trail, having suffered a third-round KO against Aloys Junior at the Hydro in May, as he vied for the WBA Continental cruiserweight title in Glasgow. ‌

He will start with small hall shows to build himself back up, but Jamieson says he wants to get back into title contention. ‌

Jamieson says he will continue in the sport as long as he has the fire to succeed, but will also know when to call it a day.

He said: “I’ve asked myself the questions over the last few months and the fire is still there.

“If the fire still burns the same way it does, I know I’ve still got a fair crack of the whip left in me. ‌
