STEVENS COUNTY, Wash. – Stevens County Fire District One used Facebook to urge residents to exercise caution due to multiple fires ignited by lightning storms in the northern part of the county.

Firefighters have noted that smoke may begin to drift into the area. The fires across the state have nearly depleted regional firefighting resources.

This situation indicates that any new fires in the coming weeks could face challenges with available resources.
