My first reaction upon reading about President Donald Trump’s plan to combat crime in Washington, D.C., by augmenting police presence with National Guard soldiers:
“There he goes again …”
My first reaction upon reading the response of Democrats and assorted never-Trumpers to that plan:
“There they go again …”
Saying that “Crime is out of control in the District of Columbia,” Trump earlier this month declared a crime emergency and federalized the city’s police force, added more than 2,000 National Guard troops to the streets of the city, with perhaps more on the way, and vowed that “We will make the District of Columbia one of the safest cities in the world, not the most dangerous.”
It was classic Trump: Emphasizing a problem that most people would agree needs to be corrected, hype
