An injured dog limped painfully through the middle of a busy road, dodging cars and struggling to keep herself safe.

Even though she was scared and in discomfort, the pup held onto hope that someone kind-hearted would notice her and offer help.

Fortunately, Ivy and Jaina Spagis, founders of Cats of San Bernardino , a California-based cat rescue, noticed the pup. They pulled over and rushed to her side.

It was evident right away that she had been hurt, most likely by a car, and she needed urgent assistance to survive.
