Today’s weather forecast, with cooler temperatures and clouds, arrived earlier than expected on Friday morning. No 90-degree temperatures on Friday were the result. Today and Sunday will see highs in the low 80s, with variable high clouds at times. The weather will improve slightly on Labor Day, with the mercury inching upward a little bit.
As it appeared to me while writing this column Friday, the heat will be back on as next week marches forward. I expect highs in the 90-to-95-degree range and maybe warmer. If the pressure pattern sets up to favor offshore easterly winds, then it may get hotter. Regardless, it may end up being a multiday heat wave — not unusual for early September.
