CHANDLER, Ariz. — A motorcycle rider is facing multiple charges after he allegedly got into a fight with a Chandler police officer during a traffic stop, according to authorities.

The Chandler Police Department said that when the officer tried to stop the motorcycle, it sped away.

A little bit later, the motorcycle stopped at a traffic light.

"(The) officer got out to approach the rider and hit the kill switch on the motorcycle," police said.

According to police, that's when the fight happened.

"The rider swatted the officer’s hand away and a struggle ensued," police said.

Additional responding officers showed up to the scene within moments of the fight starting, and the suspect was arrested, police said.
