DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Employees at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention campus in Atlanta have reportedly been told to make a full return to headquarters on Sept. 15, a little more than a month after a gunman fired hundreds of rounds at CDC buildings along Clifton Road in DeKalb County.
The date was reported in multiple national outlets Saturday, including CNBC and CNN .
CNBC cited an email sent Thursday by the CDC's new chief operating officer, Lynda Chapman, which reportedly said: "Your safety remains our top priority. We are taking necessary steps to restore our workplace and will return to regular on-site operations no later than Monday, September 15."
