LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — A woman in Lexington was arrested on Saturday and accused of abuse and concealing a child's birth after authorities found a dead baby at a residence on Park Avenue.

The Lexington Police Department (LPD) announced on Sunday that around 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 27, officers had been dispatched to the 400 block of Park Avenue for reports of an unresponsive baby at a residence there.

When officers got there, they found an infant who was reportedly pronounced dead at the scene.

Law enforcement officials wrote that the Fayette County Coroner's Office would verify the cause of the baby's death in an upcoming news release.
