Formula 1 arrived in the Netherlands following its long summer break, and McLaren was the fastest once again. Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris were poised for another 1-2 finish for McLaren; however, Norris' No. 4 car suffered an engine failure. The shocking issue left his McLaren teammate in front, but was he able to close out the race?
Piastri and the No. 81 team for McLaren won the Dutch Grand Prix in the Netherlands, earning their seventh victory of the 2025 Formula 1 season. Piastri was just over a second ahead of Norris before the No. 4 car's engine expired, but the biggest impact is in the championship standings.
Leaving the Netherlands, Piastri has a 34-point lead over Norris, meaning the driver of the No. 81 car has an over one-race lead in the point standings. There is a long way to go during the 2025 Formula 1 season, but Piastri is starting to create separation from Norris after the summer break.
