NORMAN — Oklahoma head coach Brent Venables said Sunday on his television show that he expects offensive linemen Michael Fasusi and Derek Simmons to be available for the Sooners’ matchup with Michigan next weekend.

Simmons, a Western Carolina transfer, and Fasusi, a freshman former five-star recruit, did not play in OU’s 35-3 season opening win over Illinois State on Saturday night.

“We had some guys that we held out,” Venables said. “Mike Fasusi was unable to play, wasn’t cleared. Just had a little episode, just got overheated in fall camp there at the end. He’ll be back this week as long as everything checks out, along with Derek Simmons, he’ll be back. And hopefully Jacob Sexton will be able to power through what he’s going through as well
