It's only fitting for South Carolina football to get a massive special teams play against Virginia Tech in the Beamer Bowl.

With the offense struggling, and the Gamecocks leading 10-8 early in the fourth quarter, "Beamer Ball" struck when South Carolina needed it most.

South Carolina's Vicari Swain returned an 80-yard punt for a touchdown to give the Gamecocks a 17-8 lead, with Swain making a few nifty moves before getting into the end zone for the pivotal score. It was fitting for a team coached by Shane Beamer, the son of former Virginia Tech legend Frank Beamer, to establish strong special teams play.
