As the Los Angeles Rams prepare for Week 1, the status of Matthew Stafford has been a huge storyline. He missed all of the preseason due to a bank injury that he has been dealing with. There were legitimate concerns about his status for the season opener.
Stafford, when healthy, is still one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL . Unfortunately, he is not getting any younger and there are legitimate reasons to be concerned about how much longer he'll be able to play.
With that in mind, it would not be shocking to see the Rams look to bring in a long-term option to replace Stafford next offseason.
