SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane Police Department (SPD) says a man was arrested for several domestic violence (DV) charges following a SWAT standoff.

Police say they responded to a domestic violence call in the area of the 7000 block of north Wiscomb on Sunday, around 11:30 a.m.

Officers say the information from the phone call told them that 31-year-old Carlos Barrios was at the scene, refusing to let the victim leave the house. Police say there was a "valid order" prohibiting Barrios from being at the home.

Police say once they arrived on scene, they went inside the home using information from the phone call, locating and removing the victim from the home. SPD says Barrios retreated into the basement of the home and refused to listen to police orders.
