MEAD, Wash — It looks like students in the Mead School District (MSD) will have a normal start to the new school after the district reached an tentative agreement with the Mead Education Association on a new two year contract.
The move comes only hours before the deadline at midnight on Sunday.
MEA union members had authorized their bargaining team earlier this week to strike if an agreement wasn’t by then. If that happened, it would have potentially impacted the district's more than 10,000 students and their families.
The union says the tentative agreement still needs to be ratified by members.
School starts this Tuesday for the school district.
