LORAIN, Ohio (WJW) -- Two weeks after he announced plans to challenge Senator Jon Husted in the 2026 election, Sherrod Brown spoke to union workers here in Northeast Ohio on Sunday.

The 72-year-old who lost a tough race to Republican Senator Bernie Moreno last fall is now running against Husted, the former lieutenant governor who was appointed to serve the remainder of JD Vance's term, after he was elected vice president.

Brown spent the afternoon speaking to union members from the UAW and AFL-CIO at the annual Lorain County organized labor family celebration at Black River Landing.

Brown reportedly considered a potential democratic bid for Ohio governor before he decided to enter the Senate race.
