COLUMBUS, GA (WRBL)- As of 8PM Sunday evening, the tropical wave just off the coast of Africa has been upgraded slightly.
This area of disorganized thunderstorms now has a 40% chance of development through this week. A tropical depression is possible by next weekend, but not certain. The National Hurricane Center still expects this system to move westward over the next several days.
Pacific: Over the in Pacific, Tropical Storm Kiko formed early Sunday morning. As of 11AM Sunday, the tropical storm was located roughly 1,000 miles south of Baja California. Kiko is expected to move west this week and become a hurricane by Tuesday.
The National Hurricane Center is monitoring a second area in the Pacific. This system is just off the coast of Mexico. It now has a 80% chance over the next week
