( 25News Now ) - After winter workouts, summer practices, and fall camp, the 2025 High School Football season officially kicked off last Friday with teams like Morton, Metamora, and Normal West all starting off on the right foot.

After losing by 32 points a season ago to Mahomet, the Potters dominated with a physical running game on their way to a 28-27 victory over the Bulldogs. They’ll travel up to the Chicago suburbs for their Week Two matchup with Marian Catholic.

Although coach Nick Delinski has spent many Friday nights at Malone Field as both a player and assistant coach, last Friday was the first time he was at the helm of the Metamora Redbirds as his team rolled to a 43-14 win over Sterling. They’ll also go on the road for their Week Two matchup at La Salle-Peru.
