AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - After week one of the high school football season finished up, many teams felt more confident after grinding during the offseason and picking up win number one, including the Canyon Eagles.
Canyon would host Perryton at Happy State Bank Stadium, winning the matchup 29-6 after falling last year, 45-44.
The Eagles would go into halftime up 22-0, and the Rangers’ six points came in the fourth quarter.
Despite the win, Canyon head football coach Todd Winfrey says his team has a lot to improve on, but is pleased with the effort in the win to get the season started off on the right foot.
