A widely distributed salad kit has been recalled due to a dressing mix-up that could expose consumers to unexpected allergens.
Taylor Fresh Foods has announced a voluntary recall of its Taylor Farms Honey Balsamic Salad Kit 6/8.3 oz. The company said that a supplier, Latitude 36 Foods LLC, had incorrectly provided packets containing Asian Sesame Ginger dressing rather than Honey Balsamic Vinaigrette.
That created the possibility that people might be unexpectedly exposed to sesame and soy allergens. For people with those allergies, symptoms after exposure can range from mild discomfort up to potentially life-threatening anaphylaxis.
Taylor Farms said in a statement that it has received no reports of illness caused by the error. The company advised customers to discard the kits and said t
