ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Law enforcement has made many arrests and citations on the roads since the Labor Day holiday period began on Thursday.

As of Sunday at 6 p.m., the Georgia Department of Public Safety said authorities have responded to 305 distracted driving cases, 292 driving under the influence investigations, and 148 crashes. More than 460 people were issued seatbelt citations, 46 people were injured, and at least four people died in traffic-related incidents.

2024’s Labor Day weekend saw more than 550 crashes with over 200 injuries.

If you’re hitting the road on Monday, AAA says the worst time to travel is expected to be between 1 and 4 p.m.
