GAITHERSBURG, Md. (DC News Now) -- A man was hospitalized following a stabbing in Gaithersburg early Labor Day morning.

Minutes before 2 a.m. on Sept. 1, the Gaithersburg City and Montgomery County police officers responded to the 100 block of East Diamond Avenue for a reported stabbing.

A man was taken to the hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police noted that the other party was in police custody as of Monday morning.

Investigators are still working to learn what led up to the stabbing. It is currently unclear whether any charges were filed.
