DES MOINES, Iowa —

Showers chances will continue this morning across mainly western and southern Iowa, with the rain chance gradually dropping south throughout the day. Temperatures stay warm to start the week ahead of a fall cold front arriving on Wednesday.

Showers and evening a few rumbles of thunder continued overnight and into the morning hours across western and southwest Iowa. Those showers will linger throughout the morning hours, but will likely sit just to the west and south of the Des Moines metro. Additional rainfall for areas that do see rain should be on the lighter side, generally less than a half-inch. Areas around Carroll, Denison, Atlantic, Audubon, Creston, Clarinda, and Lamoni are the most likely to see rain today. Hig
