Losing nine straight sets to close out the Hawaiian Airlines Wahine Volleyball Classic was obviously not how Hawaii women’s volleyball assistant coach Nick Castello envisioned the season beginning.

The Rainbow Wahine, who had multiple swings to sweep Marquette in the opener on Friday, offered little resistance to San Diego, which finished off an undefeated weekend with a 25-21, 25-17, 25-16 sweep of the Rainbow Wahine on Sunday in front of a crowd of 3,704 at Bankoh Arena at Stan Sheriff Center.

Isabel Clark had 14 kills and Nemo Beach, the tournament’s most valuable player, added 12 kills and hit .333 for the Toreros (3-0), who had to go five sets to win their other two matches.
