ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A police officer shot an armed man outside a Henry County home on Sunday morning, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI).

It’s the second shooting involving Henry County police this Labor Day weekend.

Around 8:45 a.m., officers responded to a domestic call at a home on Brannan Road in the McDonough area, according to the GBI.

Outside the home, officers reportedly encountered 38-year-old Greg Hamilton, who was holding a shotgun.

Officers repeatedly told Hamilton to drop the gun, but he allegedly refused. An officer then shot Hamilton. He was taken to an area hospital.

The GBI said no officers were injured.
