The Prime Minister has reset his Downing Street team in an attempt to strengthen his inner circle amidst plummeting poll ratings for both Sir Keir Starmer and Labour.
Ninjeri Pandit, the Prime Minister’s principal private secretary; Liz Lloyd, director of policy and innovation; and James Lyons , the PM’s director of communications, have all been moved out. A selection of new faces will head to No. 10. The Prime Minister has poached Darren Jones, the chief secretary to the Treasury, bringing him into Downing Street with the new title of Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister. It’s a blow to Chancellor Rachel Reeves, given Jones was a rising star in her department. He will be replaced by James Murray, who was previously the Exchequer Secretary – who, in turn, will be replaced by Dan Tomlin
