BRUNSWICK, Ga. —

A 14-year-old girl was shot and killed Saturday evening in Brunswick, Georgia, and two people are now facing charges in connection with her death.

Police said they responded around 8 p.m. to the 2700 block of Altama Avenue and found the girl with a gunshot wound inside a residence. Investigators determined she was shot by an acquaintance. Latest Forecast

According to Brunswick Police, 17-year-old Daquarius Wallace of Brunswick was mishandling a firearm when it discharged, striking the victim. He was arrested and charged with second-degree murder, second-degree cruelty to children, possession of a firearm by a person under 18 and reckless conduct.
