Akheem Mesidor picked a perfect time to deliver the most memorable sequence of his college football career.

The Ottawa-born, Miami Hurricanes defensive end had a solo sack on the penultimate play and then finished off Notre Dame by combining with Rueben Bain Jr. for another sack of quarterback CJ Carr in a dramatic 27-24 win on Sunday night.

“We do two-minute drill every day in practice, every single day,” Mesidor told reporters. “Honestly, it’s the work we put in … the work me and Rueben put in together, the work I put in individually on my own. For that all to come together, it was special. We just had to take advantage of this moment.”
