(FOX40.COM) — Officers are investigating a shooting that left one person injured on Monday, according to the West Sacramento Police Department.

A heavy police presence was seen in the early hours of the morning in the area of Essex Avenue and Kensington Street.

A detective confirms that one person was injured but is expected to survive.

Yolo County Sheriff's Office deputies are on scene assisting with the investigation.
