Birmingham City are set to sign Patrick Roberts from Sunderland.

That’s according to Sky Sports who say the 28-year-old will join on loan for the 2025/26 season.

Roberts has bags of Championship experience and was a regular for Sunderland last season as they won promotion to the Premier League, but he isn't likely to get many minutes in the top flight.

That means Roberts is on the brink of a return to the second tier, with Blues, who are in need of quality out wide, ready to provide that.

A left-footed right winger, Roberts fits the profile Chris Davies prefers on his right side and worked with the Blues manager briefly during his Celtic days.
