A person of interest was taken into custody after five people were wounded in a shooting early Monday in the Oakland neighborhood on the South Side.
Officers responding to a call of a large disturbance heard gunfire nearby and found the five victims around 1:05 a.m. in the 3600 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue, according to Chicago police.
A 17-year-old boy was shot multiple times and was listed in critical condition at University of Chicago Medical Center, police said. A 33-year-old man was struck in his arm and leg and was in fair condition at the same hospital, police said.
Another 33-year-old man was also shot in the arm and leg, and a 26-year-old man was struck in the leg, police said. They were both in good condition at the University of Chicago hospital.
