LABOR Day travelers risk encountering delays and cancelations at airports with storms and wet weather set to hit a popular region of the US.

Millions of Americans took to the air over the weekend and many more are set to take to the skies for the holiday .

More than 17 million Americans are expected to pass through security checkpoints at airports up until Wednesday, according to the Transportation Security Administration.
