ANNA, Ill. (KFVS) - The public is being urged by police to be aware of what they call a “new batch of fentanyl” that has made its way into one Heartland community.

Anna Police say the new batch of fentanyl is a highly toxic mix, which has caused serious medical complications and erratic and violent behaviors in its users.

They are urging the public to be aware of their surroundings.

Children are included in the warning.

Police are encouraging children to stay with a group when they are out in the evenings and to avoid traveling alone, if possible.

Anyone who comes across someone using illegal drugs or suspicious activity is urged to contact police.
