Domestic abuse victim's hand signals picked up by alert bystander: Alhambra police

A domestic violence suspect was arrested after his victim used hand signals to get the attention of a bystander in Los Angeles County recently, police said.

Officers were initially sent to a 7-Eleven store on Fremont and Montezuma avenues in Alhambra regarding a suspicious circumstances call.

"During further investigation, it was determined that a domestic violence incident had occurred, and the victim was asking for help using hand signals behind her back," the Alhambra Police Department stated Sunday night.

An alert member of the public apparently recognized what the woman was doing and called authorities.
