MESA, Ariz. — A driver is in custody after a pursuit with officers in Mesa, the city's police department said.

Officers attempted to stop a red Dodge Dakota around 3:45 a.m. Monday near the intersection of 58th Street and Albany. Authorities said the driver was reportedly having difficulty maintaining his lane and was seen driving over a curb by an officer.

After seeing that transpire, the officer attempted to stop the driver of the Dodge. Police said the driver slowed down, but continued to drive away. He eventually fled from officers at a high rate of speed as police said he drove east in westbound lanes on Main Street.
