A newborn baby has been found dead by police at a family home.

The grieving family have asked for privacy after an 11-week-old baby was found unresponsive at a home in Tonypandy, Rhondda Cynon Taf on Monday, September 1.

South Wales Police found the baby who was pronounced dead at the scene.

In a statement on Monday afternoon, a spokesperson for the force said investigations into the baby’s death are underway.

The police statement said: ‘South Wales Police was called this morning to the sudden death of an 11-week-old baby in Tonypandy.

‘Investigations into the death are ongoing and you will see an increase in police presence in the area during this time.’

The force added the child’s family had asked for privacy.
