FOXBORO — Patriots cornerback Christian Gonzalez will not practice Monday, and his status for this weekend’s season opener seems to be increasingly in doubt.

Gonzalez suffered a left hamstring injury during a training camp practice on July 28, and hasn’t practiced since.
Initial reporting suggested the Patriots were targeting a Week 1 return for Gonzalez, though after missing Monday’s session he has just three practices left this week to prepare for the Raiders. Patriots coach Mike Vrabel addresses Gonzalez’s status before Monday’s practice.
“Well, it just hasn’t gone — again, (Gonzalez)’s working hard,” Vrabel said. “Whether it’s, say, one injury is going to be three to four weeks, one’s going to be one to two, everybody heals differently.”
