LONDON - The Somerset Briar Jumpers traveled to take on the East Ridge Warriors on Friday, hoping for a bounce back performance after falling to South Laurel in week one. They were able to jump on their opponents early, forcing a running clock in the second quarter en route to a 35-16 victory.

A 22-yard Kris Hughes touchdown run got things started fast for the Jumpers with less than three minutes off the clock, with the senior athlete now getting reps at quarterback for Somerset. Just three minutes later, Hughes scored for the second time in the game with an 18-yard rush that made it 14-0 in favor of the Jumpers.
