DETROIT -- The Detroit Tigers recalled infielder/outfielder Justyn-Henry Malloy and right-handed reliever Chase Lee from Triple-A Toledo on Monday.
The two players will take the roster spots created by MLB’s September roster expansion.
Another move is coming soon: Right-hander Sawyer Gipson-Long was in the clubhouse Monday for an acclimation day and is expected to be activated Tuesday to either start or pitch multiple innings of relief.
“You’ll see a multitude of moves,” said Tigers manager A.J. Hinch. “It’s another month, like we’ve done the last five months, where we’ll go series by series, and sometimes game by game, to give us the best chance to win series.”
