FLINT, MI -- Vibrantly decorated parade floats with union members in matching T-shirts marched down Van Slyke Road from Bristol Road Church of Christ to Sitdowners Memorial Park.
Union workers could be seen chanting, cheering, passing out candy, and speaking with spectators as they passed by during the second annual Labor Day Parade on Monday, Sept. 1, in Flint.
Spectators along the way cheered them on, including Kielee Gould who brought her kids to show support for the community and her father who works in the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office.
“Support means everything. We got to support our union workers. We got to support just the community all together as a whole,” she said.
