LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Labor Day means an influx of weekend travelers.

AAA of the Bluegrass said about 90% of Kentuckians drove to their Labor Day weekend destinations, but many Kentuckians were still out bright and early to fly Monday morning.

While some people are just now getting home from their Labor Day travels, others are just now heading out.

Blue Grass Airport saw an ebb and flow of travelers, including John and Denise Ullery, who are flying to Honolulu, Hawaii.

“I just can’t wait to eat the local food in Hawaii. I missed it so much,” Denise said.

John said he was in the Navy and they used to live in Hawaii, so he’s well-versed in air travel.

He even has some tips for those traveling during holidays like this one.
