FARGO — Former North Dakota State running back CharMar "Marty" Brown excelled on the big stage Sunday night at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, before 66,793 fans. Miami turned to Brown in crunch time much like the Bison did last January in the national title game.

Brown finished with 71 yards from scrimmage and scored a touchdown to help lift the No. 10-ranked Hurricanes to a 27-24 victory against No. 6-ranked Notre Dame in a battle of NCAA Division I FBS heavyweights.

“I felt confident," said Brown, who started his college football career at NDSU before transferring to Miami this past offseason. "I’ve been here before in tight games like this so it was nothing new.”
