CALLAHAN COUNTY, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – At least one person was airlifted to the hospital after a fiery crash west of Cross Plains Monday morning.
Just after 10:00 a.m., first responders were called to Highway 36, east of US 283. The crash sparked a vehicle fire that spread to nearby grass, but crews have since contained the flames.
The Department of Public Safety, Cross Plains and Eula Volunteer Fire Departments, and the Callahan County Sheriff’s Office are all on scene.
According to our reporter at the scene, at least one person was flown for treatment.
Drivers are asked to avoid the area while crews work the crash site.
