A man has been arrested in connection with an alleged sexual assault of an eight-year-old boy within a Loch Ness campsite.
Following a month-long manhunt, detectives have arrested a 44-year-old man in connection with the incident in Drumnadrochit .
The frightening incident happened on July 31, between 12.20am and 1am. The child was reportedly approached within his tent at the Loch Ness Bay Campsite before being sexually assaulted.
The assault shocked the quiet community and visitors to the Highlands. Locals have since been thanked for their support during investigations.
Detective Superintendent Calum Smith said: "We would like to thank the local community for their support during our investigation, in particular local businesses and those who came forward with information."
