Nassau County District Attorney Anne T. Donnelly announced that a Long Beach man was convicted at trial for firing six rounds and killing a man at the Channel Park Homes in Long Beach in April 2023. Ronnie Sutton, 52, was convicted on August 19, 2025, after a jury trial before Judge Robert Schwartz of Murder in the Second Degree (an A-I felony). He was previously convicted of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree (a C violent felony) and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree (a D felony) in connection with the same incident. The trial began on August 6, 2025, and the jury deliberated for four and a half hours before delivering their verdict. Sutton is due back in court on October 3, 2025, for sentencing and faces a maximum of up to 40 years to life
