IOWA CITY — Iowa football commits Julian Manson and Colin Whitters helped Iowa City West to a decisive 30-0 rivalry win over Iowa City High on Aug. 29.

The Trojans opened the season 1-0.

Manson and Whitters are both pledges in the Hawkeyes' 2026 recruiting class. Manson is the top-ranked player in the state of Iowa's 2026 high school class, according to the 247Sports Composite, while Whitters ranks seventh.

Manson, who is committed to Iowa as a linebacker, played both ways against City High, making an impact defensively and scoring a rushing touchdown when he was featured in the wildcat formation (when the ball is directly snapped to a non-quarterback who is lined up at the quarterback position for that particular play).
