PALMER, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - Police in Palmer are warning drivers to slow down, especially as school gets back in session.
During the first week of classes, officers were posted within the school zone while lit signage was also in use to call attention to the 120-mile-per-hour speed limit.
Police said they stopped just under 30 vehicles for at least 12 miles per hour over the speed limit over four days. However, town-wide they made a total of 129 stops due to speeding.
That includes roads where there were additional traffic enforcement patrols include Shearer, River, Stimson, and Springfield Streets.
