NEW YORK (WABC) -- Labor Day marks the unofficial end of summer and residents across the Tri-State are soaking in the last bits of the season on Monday.

From the beach to parades and more, those in New York and New Jersey alike had picture-perfect weather to celebrate the day.

Down at the Jersey Shore, crowds took advantage of the picture-perfect weather and gave businesses a big boost on the final holiday weekend of the season.

Beachgoers in Asbury Park had a beautiful day to enjoy the sand, sun and boardwalk.

Many said they were sad to see summer come to an end.

"I'm sad but I'm a local and this is the beginning of local summer and I can't wait, but it's been a good summer and there is so much going on and there still will be," one beachgoer told Eyewitness News.
