NEW LONDON, Conn. (WFSB) - An investigation is underway after a collision involving a New London police cruiser on Sunday night.

At around 10:13 p.m. a police cruiser was reportedly struck by a motorcycle in the area of Neptune Avenue and Park Street, the police department said.

The cruiser was hit while they were initially responding to a call at Ocean Beach Park.

The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

This incident remains under investigation at this time.
