Ontaria is coming back to Manitoba.
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers bolstered their passing attack with the signing of receiver Ontaria Wilson on Monday.
Wilson returns to the Bombers after a tryout with the NFL’s New York Jets. A late cut, the 26-year-old rejoins the team with which he made his CFL debut last year.
He turned into one of Zach Collaros’s favourite targets, catching 71 passes for 1,026 yards and three touchdowns, playing all 18 games.
Named the Bombers’ top rookie, Wilson’s peak performance was a 13-catch, 201-yard outing against Calgary in Week 6.
Winnipeg released him to pursue the NFL but retained his rights. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound Florida native has signed a contract extension through next season.
