BRISTOL TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- A 10-year-old boy is recovering after being struck in a hit-and-run crash while riding his bike just a block from his home.

Xavier Thomas of Croydon said the incident happened around noon on Sunday.

"Basically, it was a hit-and-run, and they hit me from behind, and my bike was broken into two pieces," the boy recalled.

Neighbors quickly called 911 and alerted Xavier's parents. His father, George Thomas, described the terrifying moment his wife arrived at the scene.

"My wife ran up and he was unconscious on the ground, and there were other people who came by, but the person that hit him had left," he said.
